The Christchurch Community Celebration team revived, in 2009, one of the oldest medieval fairs that was held in Christchurch. It was called The Trinity Fair.
A medieval tradition of this fair is the charter that William De Redvers drew up in around 1208 to mark the anniversary of the death of his beloved wife, the Countess Mabel. William de Redvers was the Earl of Devon and Lord of Christchurch Manor.
On the anniversary of his wife’s death he donated, from the proceeds of The Trinity Fair, twenty Shillings, to be divided into three equal parts:
We are held the first annual draw on 29th May 2010, following the ideas in the medieval charter. The prizes will be the food for the forty people and the funds raised from the draw will be divided in to three equal parts:
