Christchurch Community Celebration

About the website

The CCC team would like to deliver the following message as far and wide as possible:

It is time to celebrate Christchurch and to add to our inheritance: to celebrate the vast generosity, creativity and knowledge of our history and above all, our present community through an annual celebratory event. We want an event with a party atmosphere, where individuals and groups can express what they are proud of as part of this community, see what each other are doing and have fun. To do this, they can join in, show off - or just be there to see stalls, participate in workshops, discussions and activities.

About Participation

Participation by as many individuals and groups that are part of the community is essential to the success of the event. The New Druitt volunteers will be there raising money for the new building, and we want to support them in that, but we're not directly raising funds - see the New Druitt Community Centre.

About the Team

Local citizens proud of Christchurch and all that it has to offer.

29 May 2010

Christchurch is having a party in Saxon Square and Druitt Gardens on 29 May 2010, 10.00 am – 4.00 pm. The community is getting together to celebrate the town we love and feel so proud to be part of; the town is blowing its own trumpet!

The idea has been met with huge enthusiasm among individuals, groups and clubs in the area. The event is being funded by donations from: Christchurch Community Partnership, and the stall-holders and organisers themselves. The focus is to raise funds to contribute to the building of the new Druitt Community Centre. We are especially grateful for the commitment and participation of Christchurch Community Partnership, and their contribution to funding.

Christchurch Community Celebration (CCC) will be an annual event that revives Trinity Fair, one of the earliest recorded annual attractions held in the town. It aims to celebrate the creativity and knowledge which is part of our history and, above all, our present community, showcasing the many activities and interests that take place in the town, and to have fun together.
